With graduation quickly approaching, many changes in our students’ lives are taking place. Eighth grade students are excited about what high school has to offer and how they will fit into that big new world at CHS. Freshmen are no longer the youngest class in the high school as they have matured this year to show the leadership and abilities that they each possess. Our sophomores are making choices for next year’s academic schedule that will afford them greater opportunities in their years beyond high school.
As we look at our current student body, the juniors excitedly await the privilege of becoming seniors, with all the stigma and prestige of being the oldest class in the high school. Being the oldest class comes with a great deal of responsibility. The senior class guides behaviors of the classes beneath them with their leadership. Senior Hall is a buzz of excitement as the senior class is anticipating the great unknowns of what happens after high school. Many senior are looking ahead to moving out of the home they grew up in, making their own decisions, learning from mistakes, and capitalizing on the skills, personalities and abilities they each possess. We have had great leadership in the senior class this year, and I am excited to see them fulfill their potential in the years to come.
“One of the most wonderful and exciting facts of your life is that, whatever has gone before is merely a prelude to what is going to happen to you in the future.” - Anonymous author
This statement is true for every student, staff and anyone associated with Connell High School and the North Franklin School District. As we look at this past year, I encourage each person to make good decisions that will impact their future positively. If you live your life by this simple rule you may never have to ask yourself… what if… or regret the choices you make. It is my hope that in looking at previous decisions you will gain the knowledge required to make decisions that will impact others' lives for the better.
Thank you,
